Current and Upcoming Shows

I'm sad to report that the three galleries that were carrying my photography all closed during the COVID pandemic.  Currently I'm looking for galleries to carry my work, and I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has leads or contacts that may wish to display and carry my photography.

With the gallery closures, I have a number of already framed and ready pieces taking up space in my garage that can be purchased and shipped at a discounted price.  If there's an image you like, please let me know and I'll see if it's one I have on hand.

Keep watching this space for any news of upcoming shows or exhibitions.

Brian Marki Fine Art - July, 2014

"Gary Gardner is a wanderer who is enchanted with "the loneliness of abandoned places." He and Angus, his trusty Harley-Davidson, traveled through Wonder Valley in the southern California desert in March of 2014, when the temperatures were cool, only in the 90s.

They wandered through the wind-swept memories of those who tried and failed to find a new home in this desolate country in the 1940s and 50s. Ghosts and dust shape the photographic images he has brought back to us."

Brian Marki Fine Art -- Palm Springs
Ghosts of the Road Show, Palm Springs January 2015:

"His images entice one into the imagined lives of these resolute spirits who moved into deserts and hollows of our national landscape. For some of us, it takes us back to a simpler time, when anything seemed possible. For others it reminds us of what might have been, or might yet be."

Vanguard Seattle Art and Culture
Bemis Spring Art Show, Seattle WA, April, 2013:

"The American landscape and the open road is the subject of Gary Gardner’s photographs, which are shot from the seat of his Harley. As Gardner moves away from the interstate, one sees his self-professed fascination “with the loneliness of abandoned places.” These Ghosts of the Road are haunting relics of Americana. Gardner’s Ghosts are solitary and devoid of human presence, yet full of life and history of their own. He has covered much of the continental United States, creating a map of a wandering artist’s exploration."
